I am pissed
Today is not a good day for me I am pissed the hell off. It seems that no matter how much you do for someone they keep wanting MORE. They act like because you can afford it, you should be able to afford it for them too. How many of you know people like that?
Family, friends and even strangers. This is the worst time of year, the telemarketers are in full swing. The Sally Ann (Salvation Army) people are ringing their bells outside of the malls and liquor stores. Everyone wants something.
By the time Christmas gets here, everyone who reads my blog is going to think I am a scrooge or something, that is the furthest thing from the truth, but think what you like. I hate that folks BOMBARD you at this time of year. Tis is the Season to be JOLLY...Right?
This is a giving time of year, people are generally cheerful and willing if they are able to give at their own free will. Not because people are asking for you to support this and that. I personally like to KNOW where my money is going. I adopt a family every year, so NO I am not mean.
Another thing that pisses me off is this, Why do we work so hard to provide a good Christmas for our children and then give all the credit to someone else? A big fat white man at that? I am not prejudice, I am biracial myself. But when the day comes and I have children, I will be just like every other parent and rush out and try to provide the best Christmas for my children, But I guarantee you one thing, SANTA CLAUS will not get the credit, My children will know where there stuff came from, and how hard I work for it. They will know the tale of Santa, and that Christmas is a celebration of the birth of CHRIST. I wonder how many kids know this, hell I wonder how many adults know this?
The reason for me being pissed is simple. I am from a rather small family for this area anyway, and I do WHATEVER, I can for them. My sister called last night and asked if her husband could borrow my truck today. My first thought was why the hell couldn't he call himself, but that's cool I would rather talk to her anyway. I told her fine, but told him not to double park it, if he has to pay to park it, do that, he was like "Oh yeah brotha, man I really appreciate it" (same thing he said the time he borrowed it and I had to pick it up from the pound) and on top of that there is change in the console.
He came by this morning and picked it up, Cool. But then when he brought it back, I was at work so he left it in the driveway. When I got home after work there was my truck, with a big dent in the side, and a cracked windshield, and those two are not answering their phone.
Why, Oh why would he just put the truck in my yard without calling me? they tracked me down to borrow it, and now that its damaged, no sign of them. But thats ok, I hope the hell your reading this blog.
Now that I got that off my chest, How was your day?

Tre, there is so much going on here I don't know where to start. I can not believe someone would do that to your truck and not have the decency to get a hold of you...and a family member to boot? Do you think maybe the hubby just didn't tell your sister? Damn, this is unreal. This happens, and you rant about santa first? LOL, you're something else.
On santa, I was raised believing in santa, but I was also raised an athiest. Found Christ in my 20's. We've never told the kids the presents came from santa, we've told him who he is and where the story came from. But Christ is the center of our Christmas. I remember when they were younger, and what they'd get was a huge concern for them. We have made sure since then that if what they got became more important than the reason we celebrated, they'd get nothing. I've got pics of them sitting on santa's lap every year, but they knew he was just for fun...just like the Easter bunny, it's for fun but not the reason of the celebration.
Dang, sorry I've run on and on.

Gee... so sorry to hear about the truck... and, yeah, it's hard to say no to families.
A cousin borrowed a camera, he brought it back with the lens scratched. Next, he borrowed my digicam, when it was returned, the focus was permanently damaged. Yes there were apologies but the damaged goods weren't compensated.
After some time, he wanted to borrow money, I was thinking, "Ok. how the heck could he damage this?" Oh dear, an hour after he left, I learned from his wife that my cousin's wallet was snatched. I felt sorry for him but I asked him to pay it back in installment. It took him 3 months to pay me in full.
After that, I always said no whenever he asked for a favor. It's time for him to stop depending on others and live within his means!!!
My day was ok, except for the occassional, nerve wrecking, eardrum breaking "Huuuuumongouuuusss!!!" yells from my football fan husband.
Thanks Tre! Have a nice week.

I don't mind giving at all. I hate being pressured. I love Christmas because I love God and I know the meaning. My child never believed in Santa but I did...until I caught my dad drinking the milk and eating the cookies. Having something like that to believe was fun...but I didn't do that so much with my child...as far as family...I love to hate them sometimes because they treat you the worse and disrepect your property...hopefully your sis doesn't know what her husband did...but that does stink to do you like that after you were nice enough to help him out...sounds like you are having a bad day...count and pray so you won't hurt nobady..(LOL)

(hmmmm... I came to see if you responded to my comment and I notice that it is not here... I dont know what happend. I dont think you would delete it, so Ill post it again.)
Oooh Tre... I'm so sorry to hear about what happend. But be strong my brother, as I'm sure you will.
I have a scripture to give you motivation and will clear your head
Matthew 5:38-42
You have heard that it was said, "Eye for eye, tooth for tooth" But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.
I pray you hear from your sister soon.

Oh my!! I love my sister and her husband, but if he dented my car and didn't tell me, I'd be pissed too!! At least TELL me that you dented my car and cracked the windshield!! That's not right. I would definitely confront him about it, make him pay it and I wouldn't let him borrow my things again. LOL. But I don't know how you want to handle that...seems like you're mad enough to see it my way! I hope everything works out for you! And besides my migraine headaches, my day is pretty good! =)

God, I love your post. :-). Isn't life little funny to have such funny characters around. Well... I personally haven't allowed such things to happen with me. Have been little careful about what I am giving and to whom. But I have spent one year under a boss who used to borrow my car almost every week and then take it on long drive. Now how do you say 'No' to a boss? But I got so pissed off I finally had to put in my resignation.

Tre if I had a ncikle for everytime I got treated like this I would be a rich man.
People have a lot of advise here and reading from the bible and I think the best way to handle it is wait till the next time they ask to borrow something and calmly say " I am not comfortable with your borrowing my stuff because of what happened last time". Your still being nice about it but your using common sence and nobody can blame you for that. The bible doesn't even tell you to throw common sence out of the window. It says "if someone slaps you in the face turn them the other cheek" ok understood but it doesn't say if they keep hitting you repeat step A..
You had this happen twice now remember that saying "screw me once shame on you, screw me twice shame on me!!".
You can still be in charge of your life and your property..
Oh yeah and don't worry about Santa taking all the credit for yur hard work. Your children know who is strong in their life and appriciate everything you do for them. It's better to give than to recieve and I don't know my mother taught me to be the silent giver. you know not to take the credit for the good you have done. She said if it comes from your heart you don't need to announce that your the one who put $500.00 in the collection basket. Your return will be greater. At first its hard as hell to do it and your like HEY! somebody is gonna know the good I did here!! I still find it hard and am waiting for some return...LOL
You sound like a cool person remain that way and things will go your way..And don't let those energy Vampires suck the life out of ya!!!

DAMN, Tre!!! You have every right to be pissed. Lesson learned: NEVER, and I mean NEVER let them borrow anything of your again! I don't care who they are, that's just WRONG!!!
And my daughter NEVER thought that Christmas was about Santa. I told her from the time she could understand that there is no such thing as Santa, me and her father buy EVERYTHING! LOL!
Feel better, hon!

Boy oh boy, do I feel ya??? I sooooo know where you're coming from. I'm a very giving person but unfortunently that gets me taken advantage of and now has become expected from all of my family members. Some reciprocation would be nice once in a while but even a thank you would do.
I understand your feelings on the Santa thing too. In order to keep with the tradition my kids each get ONE present from Santa and the rest is from us and they know on Christmas morning to thank Jesus for their breath and even my 5 year old opens the door Christmas morning and invites Jesus in (may sound strange but this is the way our day starts) I wasn't so great in the past explaining the true meaning of Christmas because it was never explained to me but now that I know I will do my best to make sure all of my loved ones understand it as well.
It's too bad that some times some people can ruin things for all others. I feel for you so much in that situation.

Man that's messed up, after the tow, they would have had a hard time borrowing loose change from me.
Check this out though. My brother in law is pretty handy. I had an old digital camera with a broken button on it so I got a new one. I told him there was a problem with the old camera but if he wanted it, he could just have it. Wouldn't you know he took it apart, fixed it, and gave it back to me? That's not all. I had a leaky faucet, they were at my house and while I was at work, he fixed that too.
